MOST ANTCIPATED FILMS FOR 2012

These are just SOME of the films that you can look forward to in this year... Throughout the year we will dive into more films, but for now here’s just a little taste of what you can expect, in 2012 from now until July.

This is NOT a TOP 10 its just Some films that we think you HAVE to watch in 2012

·      HAYWIRE
Gina Carano Will kick her way into Your Heart

This film is action suspense type film, akin to that of the Bourne franchise. Steven Soderbergh directs it, and it stars the beautiful yet relatively unknown Mixed

Martial Arts champion, Gina Carano, amongst a star-studded cast that includes, Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas, Ewan McGregor, Channing Tatum and Michael Fassbender.

·      CHRONICLE

This film really got every one by surprise... It's an independent super hero film that could easily be one of the best films of the year.
These Will do some funny ish!!

Shot in that found footage style that really helped make paranormal activity a hit, we see these three ordinary friends discover something, which enables them to have these superhuman abilities. Instead of using them for good, like we so used to seeing, they use their newfound powers to play pranks on people.

But, then something goes wrongs, and it's not all fun and games anymore.

Releases on the 17th of February Check out the Trailer

·      SAFE HOUSE
Even in South Africa!!!
Starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds, this films was shot right here in Cape Town, South Africa.

Plot, when a group of rebel soldiers from the neighboring region destroy a CIA-operated safe house, the facility's young house sitter must work to move the criminal who's being hidden there to another secure location.

Release Date, not yet known but it is scheduled to release on the 10th of Feb. in the states, hopefully it's the same for us here in South Africa.

·      JOHN CARTER

He went to Mars and Back again
The legendary novel finally gets a movie! The John Carter series, Barsoom, which spawned over 11 novels from its first publication in 1912 to 1964. It has served as the inspiration of a large number of Sci-fi material, form Star Wars to the recent Avatar.

`The novel has a big place in history for its contribution to the Sci-fi genre. So will the film have the same impact?

We don't think so, because it will just seem like a combo of stories that you have seen before, but in actual fact the novel was the inspiration for those stories. We think it will be highly entertains and with Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, and Mark Strong amongst a wonderful cast, it will definitely be worthwhile. Releases on 9 march hopefully...

·      THE HUNGER GAMES
Kids gotta Kill to Survive

Based on a best-selling novel, the Hunger Games Is an earthly awaited film that has the potential future Hollywood stars, all lining up in this cast that story is quite a unique one.

Its premise will see kids fighting each other to death for their own survival.

That little synopsis doesn't do the story justice, but if you want to know more about this film that will most likely prove to be a hit, that you got to go out and read the novels! It will be worth it.

Released date: 21 March

·      WRATH OF THE TITANS

Clash of the Titans, is a just bad! We disliked this entire film.

The Titans are Here!!!

The original Clash of the Titans is a true classic and in true Hollywood fashion, they managed to produce a horrible film with incredible style. However now that there isn't a classic film to compare it too, Wrath of the Titans looks like it will be something to look forward to this year!

Looking at the trailer the film looks a lot more polished as compared to the previous, with more focus on father and son relationship.

Release Date march 30th

·      AMERICAN REUNION
Saving the Best Piece for Last

This is probably the most anticipated R-Rated comedy of the year. This film will see the original cast of the 1999, film American Pie, coming for their high school reunion. And yes they get into a lot of sexual endeavors. The cast includes, Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nichols, Tara Reid, Sean William Scott, John Cho & Jennifer Coolidge.

Release Date on 6 April

·      MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS

Love this Poster!!!!

Probably the most anticipated comic book films, since we saw that comic book films can be do e extremely well. We have all just been waiting for a awesome team up to happen and this film promises us to deliver it.

The Avengers have been in the works since 2008 with the release of Iron Man having been building up these stories to this o e event. It's fair to say that, all these characters films have just been little teasers for what this film will be.

The Avengers release in South Africa on the 27th April and in the States on the 4th of May.

·      THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

Well this film comes abit way too soon for us, as the last Spidey film wasn’t that too long ago… Was it really necessary to reboot the franchise? Last time we checked the Spider-Man series was actually good.

He needs Cartridges for webbing???

Well, Whatever. We get to see Spidey make his big screen debut once again, following the one of his early stories, before he met Mary-Jane, and introducing his parents will probably come to be a plus. Especially with comic book fans knowing that his parents and some links to S.H.I.E.L.D.

So could we see Spidey link up with the Avengers sequel?? Maybe, Maybe not. Sony still owe rights on the character that’s why they kind of rushed to get another made, while they can eat the profits.

Either way, it will be exciting.

Release Date 6 July

·      THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Probably the only other comic book movie that could be better than the Avengers this year. The Dark Knight Rises brings this wonderful franchise that Chris Nolan has handled to a close.

Batman dies!!

The Dark Knight Rises, looks bigger, looks darker, looks epic, but will it dethrone The Dark Knight has the best comic book film ever made??? We have our doubts on that but what we can assure you is that this will be big!!!!

Release Date July 20th

These are just the 10 films up until July that we think you have to watch!! These are just reference points on what to expect from the world of the movies.

What films do you want to see this year??? We will update on films as the time goes by.
