RACHEL WEISZ TALKING BOURNE AND OZ

Rachel Weisz has two big movies coming out next year: The Bourne Legacy and Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great and Powerful. She sat down with MTV to talk to about her role in the latter. Not much is known at this time about Raimi's take on L. Frank Baum's classic tale. Weisz confirmed that Raimi's take will go back to the source material instead of building on the famous film.

Here is what she had to say:

“It's absolutely separate from the classic film. L. Frank Baum wrote ten or so volumes of the whole mythology of the Emerald City, Oz, et cetera, so this is the story of how the wizard got there. So it's pre-Dorothy. It's really nothing to do with 'The Wizard of Oz' in a sense. It's much, much earlier.”

She went on to say that:

Oz: The Great and Powerful takes more of the origin story approach to the classic tales. "It's how the wizard, James Franco, ended up in the Emerald City.

In the Emerald City, there live three witches: Glinda—Michelle Williams—who is the good witch, Theodora—Mila Kunis—and myself are sisters. I'm a big sister, and we both are more on the dark side. Well, I have a magic power, which is lightning. That was the key.

Weisz then talked a bit about her experience on Bourne Legacy:

“I've just been in the Philippines for two months doing stunts, essentially running through the streets of Manila. Basically, in 'Bourne,' it turns out that you do your own stunts. You just do all of them, and that's kind of normal. I didn't know it was going to be quite as scary as it was, but I feel like more of a man getting through it.”

Both these films seem awesome and will probably be worth the wait.
